Sunny Edwards wants to fight Bam Rodriguez next after retaining his IBF flyweight belt on Friday night.
The 26-year-old British fighter started brilliantly in the opening rounds and then showed resilience to hold off the challenge from his opponent, to win on a unanimous judges’ card.
The judges scored 115-113, 115-113, 116-112, all in Edwards' favour.
James Rodriguez, the WBC super flyweight champion is now in his sights.
"Bam [James] Rodriguez you promised me the fight next, come and get it," he said after the fight.
Another option is Julio Cesar Martinez, and Artem Dalakian, both of whom are flyweight champions, but he suggested Martinez did not want the fight.
“It was nothing less than I expected - that was my homecoming, it just took three defences to get it,” Edwards said.
“Every time I am fighting I am trying to test myself. Felix Alvarado was a phenomenal puncher, so if I could stick and mix it with him, and I showed that I could, I can do it against anyone.
“I want the big fights. Martinez, he’s running scared, Bam Rodriguez, who promised me the fight next, come and get it.”
