Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez made boxing history on Saturday night after knocking out Caleb Plant in the eleventh round to become the first undisputed super-middleweight champion in the four-belt era.
But despite the Mexican saying after the fight he will not be returning to the ring until next May, plans are already being made to find his next opponet.
According to Showtime president Stephen Espinoza, WBC middleweight champion Jermall Charlo and David Benavidez are fights Team Canelo are interested in.
"For my money, the two most interesting fights for Canelo next are Jermall Charlo and David Benavidez or David Benavidez and Jermall Charlo,” Espinoza told ES News.
“We’ve certainly mentioned those to Team Canelo, and there is interest,
"We’ve seen this year that Canelo has stayed busy. I would expect that he’ll roll into his next fight pretty quickly."
A trilogy fight with IBF middleweight champion Gennadiy Golovkin or a move up to light heavyweight to face the hard-hitting Artur Beterbiev are also potential options for Canelo next year.
