Ted Cheeseman has his sights on a second European title challenge if he successfully defends his British super welterweight title on Saturday night.

Cheeseman takes on the unbeaten Troy Williamson on the undercard of Smith vs. Fowler, which is live on DAZN

The South Londener's first European title challenge was two years ago, but it didn't exactly go to plan. Cheeseman was outclassed by Spain's Sergio Garcia, who secured a one-sided victory on the judges' scorecards.

Speaking to London News Online, Cheeseman believes he has all the tools beat Kerman 'Revolver' Lejarraga, who was crowned the new European super welterweight champion last month in Barcelona.

"I believe I’ve got all the tools to beat him and stop him, that’s a fight we’d like after this one."

"I’m ranked number four in the world by the IBF now and I’ll probably go to number two or three [by defeating Williamson]. That should get me an eliminator for a world title. I’m there or thereabouts,” Cheeseman said.

If Cheeseman does produce a win on Merseyside, he has made clear his willingness to travel in order to face Lejarraga for the European title.

“It would be a great fight for me.

"He sells out arenas and I’d have no qualms about fighting in his backyard. There is only me and my opponent in the ring, it doesn’t matter what anyone is saying outside of it.”
