Following Gervonta Davis’ stunning stoppage win over Ryan Garcia, the discussion regarding who is boxing’s biggest puncher has resurfaced.
Davis’ win, the best of his career, has won many plaudits, but Teddy Atlas, one of boxing's most outspoken analysts and trainers, still has one fighter well in front when it comes to power.
Deontay Wilder’s incredible run at heavyweight has seen the Alabama man score 42 stoppages from 43 wins, with Tyson Fury being the only man Wilder hasn’t stopped.
Despite falling short against Fury on three occasions, Wilder still managed to drop the Brit four times across the trilogy and Atlas has no doubts that his fellow American is boxing’s biggest puncher.
“Wilder’s the best puncher in boxing. Not the best boxer, but yes, the best puncher,” said Atlas when discussing the issue on The Fight podcast.
