Teofimo Lopez Sr has a lot to say.

Teofimo Lopez has made it clear he’d welcome a showdown with Terence Crawford, but his father believes the Nebraska man wants nothing to do with it.

Lopez retained his world title as 140lbs earlier this month with a win over Jamaine Ortiz, but his next move is still unknown.

As it stands, super-lightweight looks set to be a big division in 2024 with Devin Haney set to face Ryan Garcia and Jack Catterall having a rematch with Josh Taylor.

Lopez will likely be watching these fights closely, but with Crawford also a possibility at welterweight, his father has had his say on a fight against the pound for pound star.

“I don’t think Crawford wants anything to do with my son. His career is going to be over. That’s how he feels,” said Lopez Sr when speaking to Punsh Drunk Boxing.

“My son destroying him. He [Crawford] thinks he’s King Kong. Him losing to my son would be a disgrace. He wouldn’t be able to sleep at night. It would be a nightmare.”
