'The fans will be salivating' - Why Anthony Joshua should face Deontay Wilder nextDAZN
Anthony Joshua's potential next opponent sparked a debate on JABS.

Uncertainty still surrounds unified world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk and whether he will be ready to face Anthony Joshua for a second time in June.

While there are reports Usyk has travelled to Poland to prepare for the fight, there is no official confirmation of Usyk vs. Joshua 2.

If Usyk isn't ready, then Joshua is expected to take an 'interim' fight in order to keep active and one potential opponent that has been mentioned is former WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

This fantasy matchup certainly got The Fight Disciples, Adam Catterall and Nick Peet, excited on the latest instalment of JABS

"I personally would love a shoot-out, let’s go and get that Bronze Bomber, let’s stick him in a ring and get him in there with AJ," Catterall said.

"It will do massive numbers, the fans will be salivating, it will basically be who hits who first is going to go over, what a fight that would be."

Peet shared similar excitement and believes it would be a huge statement to the rest of the heavyweight division if Joshua does indeed face Wilder next.

"That would be a massive statement from Anthony Joshua as well," Peet claimed.

"Let’s be honest, he can head to China and make a fortune, he can fight Otto Wallin in the UK and make a fortune, AJ prints his own money, he’s still the biggest draw in the heavyweight division, he is still one of the guys that only does stadiums in the heavyweight division.

"If he was going to go for Wilder, if he was going to say Wilder ‘come to the UK, let’s have a shoot-out’, that for me is a major statement on the division.

"That is him basically saying ‘I am still the guy’."
