'There's unfinished business there' - does Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez need the Gennadiy Golovkin trilogy fight?DAZN
The DAZN Boxing Show debated whether the undisputed super middleweight champion needed to face Gennadiy Golovkin for a third time.

A discussion about Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez's next opponent doesn't go very far until a third fight with Gennadiy Golovkin gets mentioned.

The two pound-for-pound greats produced two memorable fights in 2017 and 2018. The first ended in controversial draw, while the second fight saw Canelo triumph on points.

Now with the curtain slowly coming down on Golovkin's career, the time seems right for the two to go head-to-head once again, and while it maybe more one-sided compared to the previous two encounters, it'll give fans and experts, including The DAZN Boxing Show's Sergio Mora some closure.

"Look at the greatest trilogies of all time, Ali vs. Frazier, that wasn’t needed, and it ended in a knockout," Mora said on The DAZN Boxing Show.

"Look at the fight of the year last year with Fury and Wilder, that wasn’t needed and that was fight of the year.

"This is that type of fight, Golovkin’s already going to be pushing 40, the first two fights were razor thin, but a lot of people have that type of memory where they forget real quick. The young guns come in and they look at Charlo, Beterbiev and everyone else.

"They want the young guys, I still want the GGG fight because there’s unfinished business there, I need the closure.

"I know the way the fight’s going to end, I think the majority of the people know how it’s going to end, but I still need to see that knockout."

If Canelo does face Golovkin next, it's likey the fight will take place at super middleweight instead of middleweight like the two previous contests.
