Few know the 140lbs division in boxing better than Tim Bradley.
The former world champion had a solid run at super-lightweight during his illustrious career and now he’s backing Josh Taylor to impress in the same weight class when he defends his WBO title against Teofimo Lopez in New York City on Saturday night.
Taylor returns to the ring for the first time in over a year following his controversial points win against Jack Catterall in 2022.
The Scottish fighter was scheduled to rematch his fellow Brit but injury to the unbeaten star led to that fight being postponed.
Instead, Taylor now goes in with Lopez and Bradley is backing him to get the job done against the former unified lightweight champion.
“I’m going with Taylor because he’s the veteran at 140 pounds of his career,” said Bradley when speaking to Fighthype.
“He’s fought a lot of tough guys in the weight class, including Regis Prograis. I’m going on his body of work and what he’s done over the course.
“I’m going with Taylor. I think his aggression, his body punching, and he’s a better inside fighter. He’s the bigger fighter, the taller fighter; he can box, he can counterpunch extremely well.”
