Tim Tszyu confirms November return against Japanese challengerDAZN
The Aussie star is closing in on a world title shot.

Tim Tszyu will aim to continue his climb up the super-welterweight rankings when he faces Japan’s Takeshi Inoue on November 17th in Australia. Tszyu, the WBO number one ranked contender, had been rumoured to face Tony Harrison but he will now face Inoue as he closes in on a world title shot.

Travel restrictions down under due to COVID-19 have been problematic for Tszyu’s team during their search for a suitable opponent for the darling of Australian boxing. Harrison, Danny Garcia, and Liam Smith were all identified as possible opponents but it’s Inoue who has the chance to derails Tszyu’s impressive momentum.

Rated number seven by the same governing body that has Tszyu at the top, Inoue is on an impressive run since losing to Jaime Munguia back in 2019. A victory over Tszyu will see him return to the business end of the super-welterweight division. For Tszyu, it could be his last fight for a while in Australia as he aims for bigger fights in America.
