Tony Bellew couldn't hide his emotions when speaking about Evander Holyfield's loss to Vitor Belfort.

Tony Bellew is the latest boxing personality to display his disgust at the recent Evander Holyfield vs. Vitor Belfort fight.

Bellew, a huge admirer of the former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion's body of work in his heyday, is outraged that a 58-year-old man could be placed in such danger.

Holyfield, a shell of the man who once lit up fight nights during his 1990s prime, was no match for Belfort as he was hurt almost immediately before the contest was stopped in the opening session.

Bellew is a major advocate of fighter safety and couldn’t hide his frustrations when appearing on The DAZN Boxing Show

“Triller is an absolute disgrace,” said Bellew. "I don't actually class this as a genuine broadcast or as being part of actual boxing. There's no other genuine broadcaster who would put this on. No genuine sanctioning body should be allowing this.

“It is truly frightening to see a man box at 58 years old. It's really, really sad to see Evander the way he is. This is a former undisputed cruiserweight champion of the world, a former unified heavyweight champion of the world, an absolute icon of the sport I have adored since a young boy. He's being thrown out there like a lamb to the wolves.

"It's truly frightening. It really is.”
