Tony Bellew believes Tyson Fury has what it takes to end his upcoming clash with Francis Ngannou in one round.
Despite being confident of the outcome of the contest, Bellew also added that if the fight were to take place under MMA rules, Ngannou would also enjoy early success due to his greater experience in the sport.
The heavyweight pair clash at the end of October in a bout that has drawn plenty of criticism due to the gulf in class when it comes to boxing.
Fans of the sport had been eager to see Fury test himself against Oleksandr Usyk, but with that fight unlikely to be confirmed anytime soon, Fury instead faces the former UFC heavyweight champion.
Bellew has had his say on the bout.
“I genuinely believe Tyson Fury, if he chooses to, could get rid of Francis Ngannou in a round,” said Bellew when speaking to talkSPORT.
“MMA and boxing are two completely different sports, it’s like saying rugby and football are the same because they are played with a ball.
“It would be just as stupid if Tyson Fury was to get in the cage with Francis Ngannou because Francis Ngannou would absolutely obliterate Tyson Fury within 40-50 seconds.”
