Tony Bellew has labelled Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou as ‘a freak show’ as the heavyweight pair prepare to meet each other in October.
Bellew, who campaigned at heavyweight at the backend of his career and was once linked in a contest with Fury, had his say on the current WBC champion’s next move.
Earlier this year, Fury was locked in negotiations for a sustained period regarding an undisputed battle with Oleksandr Usyk.
Talks ultimately went nowhere and now both men are heading in different directions with Usyk facing Daniel Dubois and Fury going up against Ngannou.
“It’s a freak show, not a boxing match,” said Bellew when discussing the contest with Joe.
“This guy is just a big, huge, strong unit, but there is loads of them in Wetherspoons every Friday and Saturday night. I’m not going to lie, I’m going to watch it, I’m intrigued.
“Put this into context, this man is having his first ever professional boxing match of his life, and he is fighting the heavyweight champion of the world.”
