Tyler Denny will defend his EBU middleweight title next month, and he's vowed to put opponent Felix Cash on the sidelines for good.
Denny and Cash will square off June 22, live worldwide on DAZN, in what will be Cash's first bout since December 2022. The long lay-off could be an obstacle for Cash against Denny, who fought three times last year and will be making his 2024 debut when the fighters meet at the Resorts World Arena Birmingham.
Denny feels that his activity over the past year-and-a-half gives him the edge against an opponent in Cash who said the bout will be a "warm-up" for bigger things later on.
“I’m more than ready," he said at a pre-fight press conference on Thursday. "Treating it as a warm-up? He needs to treat it as a retirement plan. I just hope he turns up because he’s gone missing too many times.
“I respect Felix as a fighter, he’s very good but while he’s had his time off, I’ve been building. I’m on fire.
“I’m ready and it’s going to be a great fight. 100% I win, I’ve got loads of support and I’m more than confident.”
