Although it was Francis Ngannou who stole the show last weekend with his heroic performance against Tyson Fury, Martin Bakole made a significant impact on the undercard.
The stacked show, largely containing heavyweights, was an opportunity for a number of contenders to stake a claim for a future title fight and Bakole was one of those boxers.
Going up against former world title challenger, Carlos Takam, Bakole wasted little time in disposing of the usually tough Frenchman.
Bakole only took four rounds to defeat his opponent and his promoter, Ben Shalom, insists that his man would've been victorious if he went up against either fighter from the show’s main event.
"His stoppage win over Carlos Takam was the best win on the card that night and showed beyond doubt that he's ready for world title fights and major opportunities," said Shalom when speaking to Sky Sports.
"I think he would have beaten both of them [Fury and Ngannou] on Saturday night."
