Tyson Fury is promising to be in the best shape of his life for his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday, December 21 and is receiving help from another champion to achieve that aim.

WBC Bridgerweight belt holder Kevin Lerena has been signed up as a sparring partner of the Morecambe fighter for his training camp, ahead of Fury's return to Riyadh to fight Ukrainian Usyk for the IBO, WBO and WBC heavyweight titles, live on DAZN Pay-Per-View.

South African Lerena is a southpaw, like Usyk, and has been selected by Fury's team as he also dons a similar height and build to the heavyweight champion.

Lerena, 30-3, has described the camp as 'electrifying' and believes the desire the former world champion is demonstrating in training will steer him to victory in December.

Lerena posted on X: "Life in the camp is buzzing. Just one month left until the heavyweight championship fight. The energy in the gym is electrifying. Preparation meets the determination, desire, and will to succeed. In the lab grinding away."

Meanwhile Fury has posted his own update, while showcasing his bigger and bulkier frame, promising the three belts will be his again.

Usyk inflicted Fury's first career defeat back in May, as he became the first undisputed heavyweight champion in the four-belt era , as he defeated the Brit by split decision.

Fury was knocked down in that bout, but it has since been revealed that he was unable to properly spar in the build up to the first fight after sustaining a cut above his right eye.

Fury also received devastating news on the eve of the first duel that his wife had suffered a miscarriage , although Fury refused to blame that for the loss.

Judging by the photos posted by Lerena, a lacck of sparring time and fitness is not an issue this time around, which has helped build Fury's momentum, aggression and confidence.

Tyson said: "Four weeks to go until the biggest fight of the year, the biggest fight in boxing and I'm going in hot. I am going in hot!

"I can't wait and come December 21 the belts are going to be mine again."
