Tyson Fury called Deontay Wilder a ‘sore loser’ and an ‘idiot’ for failing to acknowledge him in the aftermath of their title fight on Saturday night.
Fury stopped the Bronze Bomber in the 11th round in Las Vegas as he successfully defended his WBC belt for the first time, completing their trilogy rematch.
After the fight ended, Fury approached Wilder but was rebuffed by the 35-year-old American.
Fury told BT Sport, reported talkSPORT : “I said ‘well done, mate’ and he said ‘I don’t want to show any sportsmanship or respect.” I said ‘No problem.’
“I was very surprised. Sore loser. Idiot.”
Despite perhaps the most impressive showing of his career, Fury claimed that this was not him at his best.
“I was made for this s—,” Fury began.
“I didn’t have my best performance, but I pulled it out of the bag when I needed to get it done.
“He did keep getting up, but it was that final right hand that put him down for good.”
