Tyson Fury has admitted that there is one factor that will not influence the result of his undisputed heavyweight title fight against Oleksandr Usyk on May 18.
The two fighters will meet on DAZN PPV with the winner becoming the first heavyweight boxer to hold all the world titles in the four belt era.
This clash between Fury and Usyk is one fans have been wanting for a number of years, and with Fury being the physically bigger fighter, he is being considered by some to be a slight favourite.
However, when speaking during an interview with Queensberry Promotions, Fury claimed that his size will not play a factor during the fight and it will instead come down to who wants the win more come the opening bell.
“It won’t come down to, ‘He’s bigger than me or he’s smaller than me,’” Fury said.
“I think it will come down to who wants it most on the night. If he wants it more than me, he will win and if I want it more than him, I’ll win, but either way I think we’re in for a real treat.
“He’s proved he can mix it with the big heavyweights, he’s beat Joshua and Dubois – they’re pretty big heavyweights. I’m messing with an elite fighter who’s got more than boxing ability, he’s stubborn and wants to win like I do.
"We both have talent, we both have good attributes and bad attributes, it will come down to who wants it most on the night.”
