The eagerly anticipated bout between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder, their third meeting, is set to be a heavyweight blockbuster event. Although the eyes of the world will be on the main event, a number of intriguing contests have apparently been set for the undercard.
Boxing Scene has reported that Adam Kownacki and Robert Helenius will face off in a rematch from their eventful 2020 encounter. In front of a packed crowd in Brooklyn, Helenius shocked the New York based Pole in four rounds to cause one of the upsets of the year.
Kownacki has long been identified as a legitimate heavyweight contender and his popularity amongst the Polish community on America’s east coast saw those managing his career back him massively. His setback against Helenius came out of nowhere so Kownacki will be aiming to set the record straight.
Another intriguing heavyweight battle sees unbeaten pair, Frankie Sanchez and Efe Ajagba, go up against each other in a fight that will solidify the victor as a serious heavyweight threat. Both men have been flawless since making their professional bows but this now becomes the hardest test of both their respective careers.
Jared Anderson, a heavyweight prospect with Top Rank, is also set to see action but his opponent has not yet been confirmed.
