Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou: Naseem Hamed gives his verdict

Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou: Naseem Hamed gives his verdictDAZN

Former world champion ‘Prince’ Naseem Hamed said he could understand Tyson Fury’s motivation for taking a fight against Francis Ngannou, but he was growing tired of “bulls***” getting in the way of an undisputed heavyweight clash.

The WBC heavyweight champion had been in talks with unified belt holder Oleksandr Usyk earlier in the year, but negotiations collapsed.

Usyk will now face his WBA mandatory Daniel Dubois at the end of next month, while Fury has elected to fight former UFC heavyweight champion Ngannou, before he switches to PFL.

There are heavy rumours that Fury vs. Usyk will be held this December in Saudi Arabia, assuming the pair of them are still champions, but Hamed wants the fight soon.

“I think it’s a great business move,” he told talkSPORT.

“Tyson’s proven that he’s an amazing champion.

“But what can I say? For me personally, I really wanted to see him fight Oleksandr Usyk after what he did to Anthony Joshua.

“His next fight, what does it really mean to us? He’s not even fighting a boxer.

“It’s gonna probably be a big fight in Saudi Arabia, but does it really mean anything in the sport of boxing?

“It is a money fight, it may be a good business decision from Tyson Fury.

“But listen, Tyson Fury – people have not seen him get beat. He’s still number one, he’s still the man.

“So credit goes out to Fury, we like him.”

He added: “These guys are heavyweight champions of the world, let’s see them fight, I wanna see them fight man.

“I’m sick and tired of all this bulls*** boy.”
