Tony Bellew is fully aware of what it takes to step into the ring with Oleksandr Usyk after coming up against the brilliant Ukrainian.
In 2018, Bellew was aiming to finish his career on a high by becoming undisputed cruiserweight champion, but his dream exit was ruined by Usyk who stopped the Liverpool man in eight rounds.
Since that loss, Bellew, who already admired Usyk, has praised the achievements secured by his former opponent.
Usyk has since become world champion with wins over Anthony Joshua and when he faces Tyson Fury on May 18 on DAZN PPV, Bellew believes it’s only Fury’s giant frame that can stop Usyk becoming undisputed champion at a second weight.
“The only thing that will beat him is size because someone is simply bigger and stronger than him,” said Bellew when speaking to Spinbet.
“Tyson Fury is not a better boxer than Oleksandr Usyk, but he might just be too big and too strong. We will soon find out.”
