The boxing world received some good news on Saturday.

Things can move fast in the world of boxing and the undisputed world heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk fight is no different. 

Set to originally take place on February 17, this contest was postponed on Friday with some doubting as to whether this fight would ever take place. 

Then just 24 hours later, a new date has been confirmed and fans can once again begin to build excitement ahead of what will be a historic night of boxing. 

Why did Fury vs. Usyk get postponed? 

The undisputed world heavyweight title fight between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk on February 17 got postponed after Fury picked up an injury in training camp. 

This injury took place in a sparring session where a stray elbow opened a deep cut above Fury's right eye which would require several stitches and a couple of months to fully heal. 

What is the new date for Fury vs. Usyk? 

The new date announcement was made on a special episode of Ariel Helwani's MMA Hour.

This historic fight will now take place on May 18 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
