Ngannou could remain in the ring rather than return to the cage.

UFC heavyweight interim champion Tom Aspinall has explained that he is not interested in a boxing fight at this point in his career.

Aspinall is in line for a shot at the outright title in the near future, and has kept his focus on winning the biggest title there is in mixed martial arts.

However, he is aware of the riches on offer for boxing fights, especially having seen erstwhile UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou move into the sport with bouts against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

Speaking to OLBG, Aspinall said that he would only consider doing the same when he gets towards the end of his career.

He said: “Absolutely I'd be interested in a boxing match, but towards the back end of my career but right now I've got so much work to do in the UFC and I'm not interested in those sorts of fights.

“I've got a lot of stuff to prove.”
