Usyk vs. Fury 2: What does Tyson Fury need to do differently in rematch?

As Tyson Fury prepares for his rematch with world heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, The Gypsy King will certainly not be lacking in any motivation for the fight.

May's defeat to the Ukrainian in Riyadh saw a first career loss for the Briton and a missed opportunity to become the first undisputed division king in the four-belt era.

That split decision loss at the Kingdom Arena in Saudi Arabia is a call Fury has refuted, but the result still is a painful black mark on a permanent record for any fighter.

Closing in on the rematch set for Saturday, December 21, live on DAZN Pay-Per-View with no subscription required, debate rages over whether he may stick or twist his tactics.

Fury himself, for the record, says he needs to change very little. He lost by one point after all - another day with another judging panel and he might have been declared the victor.

But he has also hinted that his showboating in the early rounds may have cost him, allowing Usyk to ultimately close the gap after he appeared to dominate their first exchanges.

The Cat delivered the critical moment of the fight that likely swung the bout his way with a ninth-round knockdown which resulted in a standing eight count for the British brawler.

Fury being Fury, he somehow survived and actually rallied to win the final round on points, a remarkable feat in its own right - but it was not enough to stem the tide in the end.

So, ahead of his latest date with destiny, just what does the former world champion actually need to do differently, if anything at all, at Usyk vs Fury 2: Reignited this month?

Speaking in DAZN's 'Usyk vs. Fury 2: Witnessing Greatness' documentary, the great and the good of boxing have their say on what the Gypsy King may bring this time around.

Trainer and former WBO middleweight champion Andy Lee

Tyson will be sharper, he will have more conditioning. His concertation will be much better.

Those three elements alone will mean a lot and be enough.

Fury's promoter - Queensbury's Frank Warren

Tyson more than anyone knows what he has to do in the second fight. He does not need me or anyone else to tell him what he needs to do in the rematch.

He has a great boxing brain. He is a student of boxing.

Matchroom's Eddie Hearn

It is the intrigue of what Tyson Fury can do differently in this fight.

The issue is that Usyk can also be better. He will have learnt from the first fight. I think both boxers will do some things differently for this one.

Ex-WBC light middleweight champion Sergio Mora

His adjustments are going to have to be intelligence and game planning. Then sticking to that game plan.

He needs to have the discipline to see that plan out throughout the whole 12 rounds.

Usyk won the last fight by a point. So it is not like Tyson has to make drastic changes for this rematch.

Maybe stay a bit more focused. Not so much laughing and joking around, putting his hands behind his back. Cutting that out and he will take it.
