Vasyl Lomachenko: I'd go anywhere to fight George Kambosos JrMatchroom
The Ukrainian lightweight wants another shot at the division's belts.

Vasyl Lomachenko will fight wherever he has to in order to secure a undisputed clash with George Kambosos Jr.

Lomachenko fought Richard Commey in New York on Saturday night, securing a win after 12 rounds despite asking the Ghanaian lightweight’s team to throw in the towel when he rocked him in the seventh.

His rival saw out the fight but it was a routine win for the Ukrainian, who lost his four belts to Teofimo Lopez in 2020, before the American in turn was usurped by Australian Kambosos a couple of weeks ago.

"I saw his situation," said Lomachenko of Commey after the fight. "It was very hard for him. That's why I said, 'Hey, stop the fight'.

"But he's a true warrior, he has heart, and we continued and we showed 12 great rounds."

Speaking of his goal to regain his belts against Kambosos, he said: "In this weight division, we have a lot of great fighters.

"We have a lot of top fighters, so we can organise a lot of great fights.

"Yes of course, I need this chance. If God gives me this chance, I take it.

"I will go anywhere I need to go to fight [Kambosos].

"I've said my goal. Undisputed lightweight world champion. I stay at 135[lbs] and I need four belts."
