Joe Joyce has been compared to George Foreman as he looks to finally close in on a world title shot in 2023.
The London heavyweight sent a chilling message to the entire division earlier this year when he became the first man to stop Joseph Parker, and that performance is likely to be the springboard for Joyce to push on and challenge for further glory next year.
Lou DiBella, a mainstay of boxing for a long period, is a huge fan of Joyce, and he believes the 2016 Olympic silver medallist has what it takes to push on.
The landscape of the heavyweight division is still unclear as Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk decide their next moves, but whatever happens next, DiBella believes Joyce will be a threat whoever he faces.
“He reminds me of the second coming of George Foreman. I consider that a great compliment,” said DiBella when speaking with Seconds Out.
“The way I spew about big Joe, you’d think I have something to do with him, but I don’t. I just do as a fan. He’s an old school, physically strong, relentless heavyweight, and I love watching him. I think he’s fun to watch.”
