The unified welterweight champion is yet to announce his plans for 2024.

Terence Crawford cemented himself as one of the world's best pound for pound fighters after becoming the undisputed welterweight champion last year.

After years of talking, Crawford finally faced Errol Spence in Las Vegas, and it was a contest which the Nebraska fighter dominated from start to finish.

Crawford managed to knock down Spence three times before the fight was brought to an end in the ninth round. A rematch seemed to be on the cards, but this clause has now expired and Crawford is free to pursue a number of his options for his next outing.

One possible route is a move up to light middleweight and this seems to be the plan according to WBO president Paco Valcarcel.

“I’m not authorised to say it, that he loves to fight at 154, but I’m not authorised to explain it and make it public that he would love to fight at 154, I’ve been speaking to Crawford for a while now," Valcarcel told FightHype

“He will be in Puerto Rico on Friday for the fight, then we have the recognition for him on Saturday and you have the opportunity to speak to Crawford about that.”

If Crawford does make the move to 154lbs, one possible opponent could be WBO champion Tim Tszyu who is eager to face Crawford, but first he must beat Keith Thurman when the pair go head-to-head on March 30.
