The consistent lack of success in getting Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua in a ring together has drawn criticism from Ricky Hatton.

The former two-weight world champion was no stranger to boxing’s biggest tests as he shared a ring with Kostya Tszyu, Floyd Mayweather, and Manny Pacquiao, but now he wants to see Britain’s leading heavyweights take the same risks.

Fury and Joshua have been on a collision course for almost a decade and despite both men enjoying huge successes, their biggest triumph could be decided when they fight.

Both men currently have no fights signed and speculation continues to link them to a bout, but Hatton is getting frustrated by the pair not fighting and has labelled the situation ‘embarrassing.’

“Every time, whether it’s Eddie or Frank or AJ or Tyson and they say something that we might get excited about, we’ve been let down and the fact that it’s not happening is getting a bit embarrassing for the sport,” said Hatton to Talksport courtesy of Gambling Zone

“[Fury vs Joshua] is the biggest fight in British boxing history and I think I speak for most fans when I say it’s same day different s--t, it’s Groundhog Day.”
