In 2015, Sylvester Stallone revitalised the Rocky franchise after devising a story where Apollo Creed’s son, Adonis, was put on the path to world championship glory.
The film was followed up with a sequel, Creed II, that saw Michael B. Jordan’s character face down Ivan Drago’s son, referencing the infamous clash between Drago - ‘If he dies, he dies’ - and Carl Weathers’ Apollo, and then ultimately a finale between Balboa and the Russian.
A third film was announced, and now will be released in early 2023.
