Who is Jermell Charlo and who is Jermall Charlo?

When Saul "Canelo" Alvarez announced his second fight of 2023, many thought he would be taking on middleweight champion Jermall Charlo.

However it was later confirmed that Canelo would be fighting undisputed light middleweight chanmpion Jermell Charlo.

The two brothers are identical twins, and while they operate in similar weight classes, they established themselves recently in different divisions.

Jermell was the undisputed champion at 154lbs, but he lost that status when he was defeated by Canelo in September 2023, and it is now almost a year and a half since he defended his belts.

Jermall is the WBC champion at 160lbs, and has also been mentioned as a potential opponent for Canelo in future - and has not been in the ring for two years.
