Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis may have to fight Rolly Romero as he waits for a bigger name.
Romero and Davis were due to fight last year but accusations of sexual assault levelled against Romero had to be investigated, and the fight was called off as a result.
Now that no charges have been brought, it appears that the pair could meet in the ring this year.
Akin ‘Ak’ Reyes and Barak Bess discussed on the DAZN Boxing Show why Tank might have little option but to face Romero with the lack of other names free in the near future.
“It’s not at the top of our list,” Ak said.
“We gave it a pass the first time, and the fight needs to happen, they need to get it out of the way.”
He continued, saying that while they want to see Tank against a major contender, many others are busy.
He said: “We want to see Tank against the Teofimos [Lopez], the Devin Haneys, the [Vasyl] Lomachenkos, the Ryan Garcias. Guess what, Ryan is fighting, Devin is trying to secure the [George] Kambosos fight. Let Tank fight Romero.”
