A sixth-round stoppage puts the Chinese fighter in line to challenge unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk, as the new WBO interim championship.
For Joyce, he has to take some time to work out how to comeback in a competitive division.
On Sunday, Ginjiro Shigeoka takes on Rene Mark Cuarto in Tokyo, with the vacant IBF interim strawweight title on the line.
