Saturday night saw Vergil Ortiz Jr. finally end a long spell of inactivity when he fought Fredick Lawson in Las Vegas on Saturday night.
This matchup was Ortiz's first at light middleweight after encountering medical issues in a number of fights at 147lbs.
With all 19 of his previous fights being knockout wins, there were some fears that Ortiz may struggle to replicate the performances which made him an exciting prospect, but these were fears were soon laid to rest with a first round stoppage win against Lawson.
Also featuring on Saturday's card was Britain's Ohara Davies who faced the experienced Ismael Barroso with the winner likely to get a shot at a world super lightweight title at some point in 2024.
