Oleksandr Usyk and his team have arrived in Riyadh ahead of what will be the biggest fight of his career.
On May 18, live on DAZN PPV, the IBF, WBA and WBO heavyweight champion will take on WBC title holder Tyson Fury for the undisputed heavyweight title, and for Usyk, it's a chance for him to cement himself as one of the sport's greatest fighters.
After winning all four belts at cruiserweight, Usyk will now look to do the same in boxing's most popular weight division and he is hoping a teddy bear of the Disney character Eeyore will help inspire him on a quest to boxing greatness.
Why does Usyk bring an Eyeore teddy to his fights?
For a fighter as imposing as Oleksandr Usyk, it's quite the contrast when he brings a character from the Winnie the Pooh to fight week.
However, the Eeyore teddy is something which brings Usyk closer to his family.
Speaking to The Sun in 2022, Usyk revealed that the toy was given to him by his daughter when his family were forced to flee Ukraine due to the ongoing conflict with Russia and explained why it has become a vital part of his pre-fight preparations.
"It’s my daughter’s. She gave it to me to be my talisman. We bought it when we were all together in Disneyland Paris," Usyk said.
"When we left Ukraine together but our roads separated in Europe, my daughter gave this toy to me and said, ‘This needs to be right next to you’. It sleeps with me, is always close to and she told me to take it to my media event.
"I am not sure about it being in my corner, she [the toy] is a lady so she might get scared, but she will definitely be in my dressing room.”
