One of the standout performances from Friday's Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou card was Joseph Parker's majority decision win over Zhilei Zhang.
After two stoppage wins over Joe Joyce last year, Zhang had a lot of momentum going into the clash with the former WBO world heavyweight champion, and it looked like the Chinese heavyweight's power would be the difference once again after managing to produce two knockdowns in rounds three and eight.
However, Parker recovered well and managed to frustrate Zhang who besides the knockdowns, was unable to produce anything of note during the contest and failed to land a single punch in the final round.
Following what was a closely fought fight, it looks likely that Zhang and Parker will meet for a second time, and Zhang's co-manager Terry Lane gave an update on whether these two heavyweight contenders will go head-to-head once more.
“I think Zhilei wants the rematch. From my perspective, if you take a step back and look at the big picture, what is going on now in the heavyweight division is really exciting," Lane told Sky Sports.
"It is reminiscent of eras past when there were a number of top, high-profile, world-class big men who kept fighting each other to the benefit of boxing fans. Styles make fights, and it is very nuanced.
"Zhang beats Joyce, who lost to Parker? Surely Zhang beats Parker, right? Wrong. A beats B, B beats C, then A beats C? Not in boxing. It’s more of a game of Paper, Rock, Scissors where each beats one and loses the other.
"Having said that, Zhilei can make the adjustments, win more rounds and go on to other things.”
