Carl Frampton believes Joe Joyce has what it takes to grab revenge over Zhilei Zhang when the pair collide later this month.
The heavyweight pair went at earlier this year, and it was the Chinese star who came out on top when his heavy hands slowed Joyce down before stopping the Brit in the fight’s sixth session.
Joyce has taken full advantage of the rematch he was entitled to and a shot at Oleksandr Usyk is what the winner should receive.
Frampton, a former two-weight world champion, has given his backing to Joyce and he thinks the 2016 Olympic silver medallist can even the series in an impressive manner.
“There were signs in the first fight, although the eye was badly swollen and Joe was getting hit a lot, there were signs that Zhang was tiring just a little bit when the stoppage came,” said Framption when speaking to Boxing News.
“Joe was having a wee bit of success, obviously with one eye shut as well. I think he can win this fight and I think that he will stop Zhang late.”
