The Ashes series is the pinnacle of any aspiring English cricketer.
The bi-yearly clash with Australia has often made English players into legends with some examples including Andrew Flintoff, Sir Ian Botham and James Anderson.

How many Ashes series have England won?
Since 1883, when the first Ashes Series took place, England have been victorious in 32 of the 72 contests, and have won 110 of the 356 test matches against Australia with 96 draws.
When was England's last Ashes series win?
The last Ashes Series win for England came in 2015.
It was a closely fought series with Australia levelling the scores with a comprehensive 405 run victory at Lord's in the second test after losing the first test in Cardiff.
England then went onto win the third and fourth test matches which saw the urn pass over into English hands once more.
Australia did salvage some pride in the final match at the Oval with an innings and 46 run victory.
England batsman Joe Root was awarded the Compton-Miller Medal which is given to the best player throught the five test matches.
