The PGA Tour season is coming to a close.

Following an exciting men's Olympic golf tournament in Paris, attention shifts back to the PGA Tour and the FedEx Cup Playoffs.

Just three tournaments remain for the 2024 season, and it is now the business end with golf's biggest names looking to lift the PGA Tour's biggest prize.

DAZN explains how the tournament works ahead of the playoffs getting underway on August 15 in Memphis.

What is the FedEx Cup?

The FedEx Cup was first introduced by the PGA Tour in 2007 and it is a season-long competition which culminates in three playoff events at the end of the season.

Players on the PGA Tour earn points depending on how they perform during PGA Tour events and golf's four majors.

How many players qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs?

At the conclusion of the regular PGA Tour season following the Wyndham Championship, the top 70 ranked players qualify for the playoffs.

This then decreases to 50 after the St. Jude Championship and then to 30 players come the end of the BMW Championship.

The remaining 30 players will then contest for the FedEx Cup in the Tour Championship.

How much does the FedEx Cup champion earn in prize money?

The FedEx Cup champion will bag themselves $25 million in prize money.

Who won the 2023 FedEx Cup?

Norway's Viktor Hovland lifted last year's FedEx Cup with a 27-under par score at the Tour Championship.
