The first PFL vs. Bellator event is in the books.
Overall, the event was a success, especially for the Bellator side of things. Of the six PFL vs. Bellator fights, five were won by Bellator fighters. Only one PFL fighter won their bout, Renan Ferreira.
We've been told this will be an annual event, so here are a few matchups we'd like to see made for PFL vs. Bellator 2, whenever it gets added to the books.
Cris Cyborg vs. Larissa Pacheco
Cris Cyborg, one of Bellator's biggest stars, was a notable absentee on the first PFL vs. Bellator card. PFL cannot do that again. Ideally, they will throw whatever money they can at Cyborg to fight PFL two-division champion Larissa Pacheco.
Vadim Nemkov vs. Renan Ferreira
Technically, Francis Ngannou is already promised to Renan Ferreira but after seeing what Bellator's Vadim Nemkov did to Bruno Capellozza, we have other plans. Let's be honest, we are still skeptical that Ngannou will ever fight in PFL, especially as his boxing career is flourishing. So here is a plan B.
Usman Nurmagomedov vs. Shane Burgos
Usman Nurmagomedov did not appear on the first card and that is a shame. He needs to be booked for the next one. Ideally, we would love to see him versus the two-time PFL champion Olivier Aubin-Mercier but he retired after the 2023 season wrapped.
Another name that could be enticing to some of the casual fans would be former UFC fighter Shane Burgos.
