Israel Adesanya is back at the top of the UFC after successfully beating UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira in their rematch at UFC 287 this past weekend.
As a result of becoming a champion once more, there are a whole host of options for Adesanya when it comes to who he can face next including a potential showdown with UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones.
If the two were to meet, it would be a huge event in the world of MMA, and it is a fight which excites former fighter Dan Hardy.
"I’m not saying it couldn’t be made because they are two of the biggest draws in the sport," Hardy said on The DAZN MMA Show.
"Of course, it would be a fascinating bout between someone who is clearly undersized, outreached, out-heighted, but his technique is the thing that’s always shone with Adesanya."
However, while Adesanya's technique was lauded by Hardy, he can only see one winner now Jones is operating at heavyweight.
"Jon Jones especially at 205, his creativeness was lethal, but now he’s moved up to heavyweight I feel that he’s just going to be way too much for Adesanya at this size."
