There having been increasing hints that Conor McGregor is getting ready to stage a UFC comeback, with Michael Chandler his likely opponent.
McGregor recently posted about a "major fight incoming" on social media, and all signs point to the Irish star returning to the Octagon at some point in 2024.
But one observer feels that McGregor's return could be ill-advised. Former super-middleweight boxing champion Carl Froch doesn't think it's worth the risk for McGregor to come back after several years away from competition.
Speaking to to the "In The Zone Podcast," Froch offered advice for the 35-year-old former two-division UFC champion.
“Conor is finding out he just isn’t that big a puncher," Froch said.
"He’s trying to make a comeback and I think he just needs to stay retired and enjoy all of the money he has made from his career."
“I’ve got massive admiration for Conor McGregor, he’s had a great Mixed Martial Arts career but he needs to sort his head out and he needs to stop fighting, in my opinion.”
