Conor McGregor is eager to return to the Octagon later this year.
The Irishman has finished his recovery from a leg injury he suffered in a trilogy fight with Dustin Poirer at UFC 264 and is now ready to return.
However, despite McGregor frequently teasing his return to the MMA promotion, there has been no official word as to when fans can expect one of the sport's biggest stars to be in action once again.
Speaking to talkSPORT MMA whilst promoting the film Road House, McGregor listed two past opponents he would like to face in his next fight with the UFC.
"It’s good to see Poirier get that win at the weekend, that makes this quadrilogy, we’ll say the real trilogy, the finish of it, put an end to it. That’s a huge bout right now," McGregor said.
"Obviously, I’ve got the Diaz trilogy, that’s what I’ve said for the Sphere. There was cold water poured on that publicly and I wasn’t happy with that."
Michael Chandler has been a name frequently mentioned with a fight against McGregor, especially with the two going head-to-head as coaches on a recent series of The Ultimate Fighter and McGregor issued the following response when the American was mentioned as another possible opponent for his UFC comeback.
"Chandler of course, I assumed that would be the first one."
In a social media post earlier this year, McGregor claimed that a fight between himself and Chandler during International Fight Week was next, but there is yet to be any confirmation from the UFC as to whether this particular contest will still go ahead.
