Many celebrities are fans of the UFC, but none are more involved than rapper, Drake. He's unfortunately become a bit of an icon within the sport for placing major bets on fights and, in turn, jinxing those fighters. It's really more of a joke because he wins just as much as he loses, but it's fun to have superstitions within the sport.
But with his big gambling persona, he's also a fan.
During a recent live stream on his Kick channel, Drake was asked who his favorite UFC fighter is and he gave an answer that might not shock you all that much.
“OK, I’m going to answer this question strictly based on who, to me, you just can’t get more thorough than this guy,” Drake said. “I respect people where you are where you’re from and nothing else can change [that] — the money, the wins, nothing. So to me, it’s Nate [Diaz]. That’s my favorite fighter because Nate is just crazy, through and through.”
Ironically another name he dropped was Conor McGregor, who suffered his first loss to Diaz.
“Of course I have other favorite fighters. I love Conor with all my heart," he said. “Nate’s going to be one of those people [where] Nate’s going to Nate. I respect the Diaz brothers. Shout out to them.”
