Francis Ngannou at the PFL: CEO reveals plans for next two yearsDAZN

PFL CEO Peter Murray believes that Francis Ngannou is eager to return to MMA after his bout with Tyson Fury.

Ngannou takes on Fury in his maiden heavyweight fight on October 28, though Fury’s WBC heavyweight championship will not be on the line for the clash.

Before announcing that event, the former UFC heavyweight champion had announced his move to the PFL franchise, and Murray was asked about the influence Ngannou would have on the business and what his plans were.

He told the DAZN MMA Show: “It was a massive signing for the PFL. Francis, the No. 1 champion in the world, also an athlete with a point of view on how he wants to shape his career and similar to Jake Paul, it aligned with our priorities.

“We’re launching the pay-per-view division with the best, and the biggest names, so check there and Francis was focused on boxing, that fight with Tyson Fury in October.

“He’s ready to get back into the cage, I assure you, and we’re working on the opponent. Francis to the PFL, at this stage of our company, he’s an anchor to launch our PPV, an anchor to launch PFL Africa as chairman, which will launch in 2025. I can think of no better leader than Francis on the continent.”
