Jake Quickenden is looking to keep active in the world of crossover fighting and already has some opponents in mind.
The X Factor star will fight at Oktagon 48 tonight in the AO Arena in Manchester, having trained for a year to take on comedian Paul Smith.
Both men have transformed their physiques with the combat experience, and while Smith has suggested he will keep training but not fighting, Quickenden is alive to the possibility of more action.
“100%, it has been great mentally for me to get into a routine. I’ve met some amazing lads at the Combat Institute and All Stars,” he said.
“But it has been amazing for my mental health and I’m not saying that I wouldn’t want to fight again because I do really enjoy it, it’s just the weight cut was a bit hard.
“I’ve done one now and I know I can do it; when I said I was going to make 77kg, the thought of failing to make that scared me, but now we get to go and have fun tomorrow night.”
He then identified the MisFits stable of fighters as potential next opponents.
“I’m definitely going to continue to train and see what happens. I wouldn't mind knocking out one of those MisFits guys,” he added.
