Jon Jones makes his long-awaiting return to the Octagon when he takes on Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, but Tom Aspinall is predicting an unhappy return for the UFC heavyweight champion.
Jones and Miocic will square off November 16, with Jones' heavyweight title on the line. The champion has been out of action since March 2023, when he successfully picked up the belt against Cyril Gane, but Aspinall thinks Jones' reign will come to an end next month with Miocic relying on his power to overwhelm the 37-year-old.
“I'd be looking for the knockout against Jon Jones is what I'd be looking for with him," Aspinall told SafestCasinoSites.co.uk. "I'd be trying to push him back and use his size.
"It's not even like he can use the experience. They're both as experienced as one another, but I'd just be using my size on him, trying to push him back and knock him out.
"I think that Stipe Miocic has got big knockout power in comparison to Jon Jones. So I think he can knock him out.”
Aspinall will be a keen observer of the Jones vs. Miocic bout as the Briton is the current holder of the Interim UFC heavyweight title, created due to Jones' prolonged absence. It's expected that Aspinall will take on the heavyweight champion sometime next year.
