UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad headline UFC 304 on July 27 in a rematch of their 2021 fight.
They first fought at UFC Vegas 21 as the headlining bout of the UFC APEX card. At the time, they had identical records are were competing in a bid to get closer to the championship. Unfortunately, the fight was cut short just 18 seconds into the second round when Muhammad suffered an accidental eye poke that ended the fight. Due to the timing of the stoppage, the fight was declared a no contest.
Edwards would eventually go on to capture the title in 2022 when he defeated Kamaru Usman via a shocker head kick knockout with less than one minute remaining in the fight. He has also defended that title in a rematch with Usman shortly after.
Muhammad has also gone on to win more fights and he's on a five-fight win streak with recent victories over Demian Maia, Stephen Thompson, and Gilbert Burns, among others.
