The Ultimate Fighter season 32 began airing on June 4 and will run for 10 weeks on ESPN+ every Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
The coaches this season are UFC flyweight champion Alexa Grasso and former flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko. In the first episode, the lines were drawn as the teams were selected. Here's who each of the fighters ended up with.
Team Grasso
- Guillermo Torres (first pick for featherweight)
- Robert Valentin (first pick for middleweight)
- Kaan Ofli - featherweight
- Paddy McCorry - middleweight
- Bekhzod Usmonov - featherweight
- Omran Chaaban - middleweight
- Mairon Santos - featherweight
- Thomas Theocharis - middlweight
Team Shevchenko
- Roedie Roets (first pick for featherweight)
- Shamidkhan Magomedov (first pick for middleweight)
- Zygimantas Ramaska - featherweight
- Mark Hulme - middleweight
- Nathan Fletcher - featherweight
- Ryan Loder - middleweight
- Edwin Cooper Jr. - featherweight
- Giannis Bachar - middleweight
Throughout the selection process, Shevchenko joked several times that Grasso was "stealing" her fighters since Grasso was able to select first. We might already be seeing the friendly rivalry starting to sour.
The first fight of the season also took place. Shevchenko selected the first fight and picked featherweights. Her No. 1 pick Roedie Roets faced Grasso's No. 1 pick, Guillermo Torres. After the fight went one round apiece, they entered a third round and Roets was able to secure the victory for Team Shevchenko.
Shevchenko picked the second matchup and selected Omran Chaaban (Grasso) vs. Shamidkhan Magomedov (Shevchenko) for next week's middleweight fight.
