BRAVE Combat Federation’s 73rd event is slowly shaping up to be a banger as the promotion heads back to Bogota, Colombia, for the first time in nearly four years.
BRAVE Combat Federation will light up the Colombian MMA scene once again when it returns to the South American nation to host the BRAVE Pan-American Combat Week alongside IMMAF and the Latin Fighter Championship between August 10 -13.
With Jose ‘’Shorty’’ Torres and Nkosi ‘’The Future’’ Ndebele competing for the vacant BRAVE CF bantamweight title, BRAVE CF 73’s co-main event will deliver an exciting fight as Zach Makovsky and Flavio Queiroz will throw down in a hot flyweight bout on August 12.
A former BRAVE CF flyweight tournament competitor, Makovsky has had an unfortunate run with back-to-back losses in the 125-pound division, with his last defeat coming against Kazakhstan’s Asu Almabaev at BRAVE CF 60.
His last victory came in 2020 when he overcame the current flyweight tournament finalist, Velimurad Alkhasov, at BRAVE CF 34. Makovsky is a highly experienced athlete who has competed in various promotions, with 30-plus fights and 21 wins. The elite wrestler and grappler will want to remind the world of his potential and get back to winning ways when he faces the Brazilian Queiroz, and what better way to do so than on the most-global MMA platform?
Flavio Queiroz last competed on the same card as Makovsky, although he turned around a victory at BRAVE CF 60 when he stopped countryman Igor Taylon via knockout in the second round in Isa Town, Bahrain.
With 11 stoppages - and eight KOs - in 13 fights, Queiroz is not one for working overtime. With Makovsky coming into this fight as the grinder, it makes for an exciting match-up of styles at BRAVE CF 73 as both men look to start climbing the ranks of the 125-pound division again.
BRAVE CF 73 will be the third overall event the most global promotion in the world organizes in Colombia, the second in Bogota, as the organization renews its commitment to the Latin American MMA scene and remains the only global promotion to host events in Colombia. Alongside Latin Fighter Championship and IMMAF, BRAVE CF will host the first edition of the BRAVE Pan-American Combat Week, between August 10 and 13.
