One of the biggest grudge matches to be made in MMA is set for UFC 269 on December 11th after Leon Edwards and Jorge Masvidal agreed to face each other in what could well be a superb welterweight encounter.
Simmering tensions between the pair go back to 2019 when the pair were involved in a backstage altercation at a UFC event in London, and now they’ll finally settle their differences.
Contracts for the contest have still not been signed but agreements have been made by the fighters and the final details are soon to be confirmed according to ESPN. The fight is set to have a massive impact on the welterweight division with the winner in line to face champion, Kamaru Usman, in 2022.
UFC 269 is shaping up to be one of the events of the year with Edwards vs. Masvidal set to join a stellar card. Charles Oliveira defends his lightweight championship against Dustin Poirier as well as Gillian Robertson and Priscila Cachoeira competing for the women’s flyweight belt.
