The UFC hosted a Fight Night in Saudi Arabia on Feb. 1 which marks the first of nine straight weeks of action for the promotion.
Headlining the card was the return of former UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesnya for his first non-title fight since 2019. He stood across the Octagon from rising contender Nassourdine Imavov was able to earn a shocking second round TKO win over Adesanya silencing any doubters.
I feel so good, I said it all week long," he said after the win. "Now the real goal for me is to fight for the belt."
It was just 30 seconds into the second round when Imavov found the overhand right that dropped the Adesanya and likelt propelled him into the next shot at the middleweight title.
"I think there is no doubt I am worth the belt," he said.
